After more than 180 years at sea, Cunard has grown into an iconic global brand. The line earned fame in the first half of the 20th century for its stylish Transatlantic crossings. During what is widely known as the Golden Age of cruising, many of Hollywood’s biggest names travelled with Cunard. The likes of Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, and Charlie Chaplin enjoyed white-gloved service, impressive ballrooms, and the chance to discover the world in luxurious comfort. Embodied by the classic red and black funnels, the designs of Cunard’s current ships have been inspired by the past but reimagined for today. Alongside classic, art deco stylings, today’s guests will find splashes of bold colour and contemporary comforts.
Cunard has been part of Carnival Corporation for nearly 25 years. The fleet currently consists of three ‘Queens.’ Queen Mary 2 is the largest, at just under 150,000 gross tons. It can carry 2,695 passengers and 1,253 crew members. Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth are sister ships weighing in at just over 90,000 gross tons and carrying around 2,000 passengers and 900 crew members. A new ship, Queen Anne, is scheduled to debut in early 2024. Queen Anne’s design is based on MS Koningsdam, a Pinnacle class ship from fellow Carnival Corp. line Holland America. The new Cunard vessel will carry 3,000 passengers and weigh in at 113,000 gross tons.
Cunard’s fleet travels the world over. It’s the only line that still offers scheduled service for transatlantic crossings in classic style. But that’s just the beginning. Cunard’s world includes regions like: Africa and the Indian Ocean; Alaska; Asia; Australia and New Zealand; Canary Islands; Caribbean; Mediterranean; Northern Europe; Panama Canal and Central America; South America; South Pacific; USA and Canada; and Western Europe.
Cunard also offers World Voyages extending more than 100 days. These can also be purchased in shorter segments.
